CANSail 3 & 4 420 (Age 11+):

Welcome to our Junior Sailing programs. We are inspired to help your youth get the most out of their sailing experience.

Our New Youth 4 week sailing program builds on the sailing knowledge of CANSail 1 & 2 . The focus in this program will be to keep the sailors engaged with appropriate learning and challenges. We utilize our fleet of 420s and incorporate trapeze and spinnaker functions. Opportunities for local regatta participation.

Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed CANSail 2.

A typical day at IYC:

8:30-8:45     Drop off at Dan Leckie Way tender
8:45-9:00     Private ferry to IYC
9:00-10:00     Lessons and rigging
10:00-12:00     Morning sailing session
12:00-13:00     Lunch
13:00-15:00     Afternoon sailing session
15:00-16:00     De-rig and de-brief
16:00-16:15     Ferry back to Dan Leckie Way
16:15-16:30     Camper pick up

  • All times and daily activities are subject to change dependent on weather conditions
  • Extended child care available for an additional fee
  • Families sending lunches must ensure they are nut-free
  • A lunch program is available at $14/day

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm

Member Rates:
Session 1: June 29 to July 24 – $1450 (+HST)
Session 2: July 27 to August 21 – $1450 (+HST)
Early Drop Off: From 7:30am – $25 (+HST) per person/week
Late Pickup: Up to 5:30pm – $25 (+HST) per person/week

Public Rates:
Session 1: June 29 to July 24 – $1600 (+HST)
Session 2: July 27 to August 21 – $1600 (+HST)
Early Drop Off: From 7:30am – $25 (+HST) per person/week
Late Pickup: Up to 5:30pm – $25 (+HST) per person/week

PAYMENTS:

  • Payment is due in full and will be processed at the time of Registration.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • We require fourteen (14) business days notice prior to the start of the Sailing Program Session.
  • Refunds are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the total fee per Program/Session and per person registered for whom the cancellation is being requested for.
  • Cancellations that are received within thirteen (13) days prior to the beginning of the Program/Session will not be eligible for a refund.
  • There are no refunds for cancellations after the start date of the Program/Session.
  • NO refund, reduction of fees or credit will be granted for late arrival, early departure, withdrawal, or dismissal.
  • High Water Levels: Should an upcoming program be cancelled due to high water levels, Island Yacht Club may cancel any and/or all programs, at its discretion, so as not to pose a health or safety risk to the instructors or participants. Should a program be cancelled through the duration of a course, the refund will be pro-rated.

Requests for cancellations must be made in writing and submitted to the Sailing Progam Administrator via email to camp@iyc.ca. Please include the Registrants Full Name and Program/Session. EARLY DROP OFF/LATE PICK UP:

  • Requests for Early Drop off and/or Late Pick Up must be made at time of Registration.
  • No Refunds will be issued for Cancellations.

MEDICAL CANCELLATIONS:

  • If a Registrant is unable to attend due to medical reasons, a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fee, will be granted, provided we receive a letter from the camper’s physician. In the case of early withdrawal due to medical reasons (accident or illness), the Youth Sailing Program fees may be prorated, provided we receive a letter from the camper’s physician ($25.00 administrative fee still applies).

NSF CHEQUES:

  • There is a $45 administration fee for all NSF/returned cheques.
